Original painting, KELLY, from The Geometric Series. This piece is named after one of my best friends. I’ve always admired her for how she’s able to follow her intuition and do exactly what she wants. The Geometric Series, as a whole, is a celebration of going after your dreams and following your own path, so it only felt fitting to name a piece after Kelly.
The Geometric Series also celebrates the simple beauty of sports fields, stadiums, pools, etc. KELLY draws inspiration from the swimming pool. The lines on the bottom of the pool act as a guide for swimmers during competition, and a place to keep their eyes. As I work to grow my art practice, this line serves as a reminder to stay on my path and push past the tough moments.
