DEEP END
Original painting, DEEP END, from The Geometric Series. This piece draws inspiration from the swimming pool. The lines on the bottom of the pool act as a guide for swimmers during competition, and a place to keep their eyes. As I work to grow my art practice, this line serves as a reminder to stay in my own lane, follow my own path, and block out outside noise. The title, DEEP END, nods to both the physical leap (dive) I took into the pool every day at practice, as well as the leap of faith I took to pursue my art career. Just as you may be unsure of jumping into deep, dark water, the combination of the deep green and blue colors and pool line design offers insight into jumping into my art practice and following my own path.
