NEON MOON
Original painting, NEON MOON, from The Geometric Series. This piece draws inspiration from the swimming pool. The lines on the bottom of the pool act as a guide for swimmers during competition, and a place to keep their eyes. As I work to grow my art practice, this line serves as a reminder to stay in my own lane, follow my own path, and block out outside noise. The title, NEON MOON, nods to the famous country song by Brooks & Dunn. This song discusses the theme of heartbreak after losing your love. Growing up, I struggled to find harmony between my love for sports and my creative side. At times, I gave up one for the other, never feeling complete. With The Geometric Series, I’ve been able to blend both passions. The line here symbolizes that blend, with two sides coming together to form one path. The bright “neon” color of the line is my light fully shining.
