THE STORY

behind the sketchbook

Back in high school, most of my work was done in pencil in a sketchbook. I had weekly sketchbook assignments for my art class that explored a number of styles and subjects. While I spend a lot of my time now creating bold acrylic paintings, I wanted to find a way to honor and celebrate a medium that started it all for me. From the Sketchbook does just that.

Each month, subscribers can expect a giclée fine art print of a sketch I create that month, exclusively for the print club. Some month’s sketches will be in only pencil and some may be in color, where I can also spend time with my markers and colored pencils (some other mediums I love).

My mantra for 2026 is, “Collect Art. Share Art. Make Art.” Not only does this project help me create more art that I love, but it also allows collectors to join a special community and build a collection, or sketchbook *wink, wink*, in an accessible way.
